Gold Cup for the British Open: THAI POLO NP, el gran campeón


La Gold Cup for The British Open, el torneo líder en Europa, culminó el domingo 27 de julio en el Cowdray Park de Inglaterra. Considerada como una de las tres principales competiciones de polo del mundo, junto con los Abiertos de Estados Unidos y Argentina, es el tercer torneo de 22 goles de la temporada británica. Trece equipos participaron en el certamen.


Thai Polo NP, que ya se había quedado con el Trofeo Príncipe de Gales en la apertura de la temporada alta, en el Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, volvió a lo más alto de podio y se cargó a uno de los favoritos, UAE Polo Team, que había hecho lo propio adjudicándose de punta a punta la Queen's Cup del Guards Polo Club.


Luego de vencer en la final a UAE por 9 a 7, en una jornada marcada por la lluvia y postergaciones, Thai Polo levantó el trofeo más codiciado del Viejo Continente, de la mano de los hermanos Ned y Louis Hine, James Harper y Nico Pieres, MVP de la definición. Progresión: 2-0, 3-1, 5-2, 7-4, 9-5 y 9-7

English version. Thai Polo NP Raise Gold Cup in Electric Final
The Gold Cup for the British Open Polo Championship, Europe’s leading tournament, finished on Sunday 25th July 2021, at Cowdray Park, the Home of British Polo.

The Gold Cup tournament is regarded as one of the top three polo competitions in the world, alongside the US and Argentine Opens. Thirteen teams had been taking part in the 2021 tournament which saw some of the top international players in action. 

Thai Polo NP, who had already won the Prince of Wales Trophy at the beginning of the high season, at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, returned to the top of the podium and defeated in the final match UAE Polo Team, who had recently won the Queen's Cup at the Guards Polo Club. 

After beating UAE in the final by 9 to 7, Thai Polo lifted the most prestigious trophy of the Old Continent, thanks to brothers Ned and Louis Hine, James Harper and Nico Pieres, MVP of the match.
